As a family-owned cooperative, knowing our neighborhoods inside and out gives us the perspective we need to maximize our impact with everything we do. Many of our cooperative Members and their store associates live and work in the communities they serve, and they understand the needs of their neighbors. Over the last two decades we’ve donated $62 million to more than 2,500 charitable organizations that are on the front lines fighting hunger. Wakefern associates also give of their time by volunteering at food banks and helping plant trees and clean public beaches, parks and gardens. We back up our community pledges with a corporate commitment to sustainability through our business practices. From increasing store composting efforts and fresh food donations, to our longstanding recycling program (we have our very own recycling facility!), we are always looking for ways to help our communities grow and flourish.
